Pathways to Progress

March 1st & 2nd – Hall County/Gainesville, GA

Sustainability is the pathway to the future. It offers a framework to generate economic growth, achieve social justice, exercise environmental stewardship and strengthen governance. Learning about our approaches, successes and challenges first hand is one path that leads us toward growing and sustaining a vibrant state industry. Join your colleagues for this 1 ½ day event to learn, tour, network and even have some fun! 

 

 

 

 

Day 1 (Wed March 1st)   12:00 Noon-6:00 PM

Facilities Tour & Brewery Tour/Reception-Transportation Provided from Holiday Inn Lanier Centre where a room-block for Wednesday night has been reserved.

Lunch on Arrival – included in fee

Join us as we visit the Hall County Resource Recovery facility to see how local government is handling collection/processing of materials.

Then, we’ll visit tour and sample at Left Nut Brewery (LBN), one of Georgia’s newest craft breweries, with our friend and former colleague Rick Foote!  You will learn about the adaptive reuse project of the 1927 building in which the brewery was built, sample up to 36 ounces of their beers, ciders and even root beer! We’ll have a few small bites, some networking time and always with GRC….fun!  Also, you will get a souvenir LNB glass to keep! Then, you’ll be returned to the Holiday Inn Lanier Centre.

GRC Semi-Annual Membership Meeting-Hear about plans and programs for 2017 and give us your thoughts and ideas on topics, speakers, events and more to clear a path for your success!

Hall County Resource Recovery will give us an overview of their program and the path forward for the county’s recycling program.

Where’s the Break on Glass? Hear from an RRS staffer representing the national Glass Recycling Coalition’s work and progress on restoring glass recycling to local programs.

Plastics Markets Update from industry leader Moore & Associates will assist us in understanding where we’re headed for short term and going forward.

Enjoy lunch and a last chance to network– then hit the path toward home!

Board & Committees Will Remain for a Facilitated Training Session from 1:00-3:30 PM
