Waste and Recycling Workers Week
The week of June 17th is Waste and Recycling Workers Week. Join us as we celebrate our waste and recycling heroes. We thank all of our solid waste and recycling workers across the state for protecting our environment.
Looking for ways to celebrate the waste and recycling workers in your community? Here are a few ideas to inspire you:
- Follow GRC on social media (@garecycles) and help us thank our 2025 hometown heroes this week.
- Write a thank you note or leave a sweet treat or ice cold water for your recycling and solid waste crew.
- Check locally to see if there is a luncheon to thank the workers. If so, consider donating a gift card as a prize or ask how you or your business can help.
- Share your favorite story about your hometown solid waste and recycling worker! Be sure to tag @garecycles or use hashtags #GRCWRWW2025 #WasteRecyclingWorkersWeek #thankyou
- Help your kids get involved in thanking the workers (e.g., have them draw a picture or leave a thank you message in chalk on your driveway.) Need inspiration? Download the free coloring book in the resources section below.
