International Compost Awareness Week-May 2-8, 2010

Across the United States and Canada, composting advocates will be encouraging everyone to Compost! Those who believe in the Compost Message will be planning events in their community to promote the value of compost. GA Recycled Organics Council RE-Invigorated

G-ROC , GRC's Recycled Organics Council, in partnership with Georgia DNR-EPD, Georgia Dept of Community Affairs, Athens-Clarke Co Recycling Div., and EPA Region 4 hosted a tour and workshop in observance of International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) on May 5, 2009 in Athens, GA. 

Think Composting

Think Composting is for use by educators to enhance organics recycling and composting lessons. Originally published by Hall County Resource Recovery, it has been printed and distributed for many years by the Georgia Recycling Coalition. It is offered online now and may be freely copied for educational purposes.

The Georgia Recycling Markets Directory

The Georgia Recycling Markets Directory, administered by DCA, is a directory that is useful for governments, businesses, and individuals as they develop recycling and composting operations. The directory lists recycling markets in Georgia and the surrounding states. At our January 2009 GROC (Georgia Recycled Organics Council ) meeting, Joe Dunlop ( of DCA ) informed the group that there is a new form for ‘Composting and Wood Waste Management Operations' specific to large organic waste producers who wish to be included in the directory.
